Born December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Walt Disney was underage to enlist in the Army. He managed to join the Red Cross in September 1918 and trained as an ambulance driver. Disney eventually was sent to France in November 1918 - the Armistice had already been signed. He spent 11 months overseas as a driver.
