Letters Home depicts the perspective of a 20-year-old from a small U.S. town who falls in love with Europe during WWII, despite the ravages of war. He returns to Paris after the war to get his doctorate at the University of Sorbonne and chronicles the struggles of the European countries to reconstruct themselves post-war.
