Stan Jones was born on October 12, 1893 in Brooklyn to William O. and Jessie F. Jones.

In 1913 he entered Andover and went on to Dartmouth. He left college in the spring 1917 and was a member of the First Dartmouth Ambulance Unit. He served 3 months in the American Field Service driving an ambulance for the French Army before joining the U.S.A.A.C.

After the war in worked in advertising and as a freelance writer. 1939 he joined the New York advertising agency Young & Rubicam. 

Stanley Burt Jones passed away 1968 in New York.
